Methodology

Every figure published on this site has one definition, stated here, including what it excludes. A figure without a stated method is not a figure.

FigureIncludesExcludes
In circulationEvery issuance entry net of every redemption entry, all sourcesCrew treasuries held in escrow; unredeemed obligations
Entries, 7 daysAll four entry types, rolling 168 hours to the as-of stampReads that failed; entries written after the read instant
Issued, 7 daysIssuance entries only, grossRedemptions, transfers, adjustments
Outstanding liability, snapshotΣ of every entry amount in the published snapshot, obligation-class assets only — the ledger classes REWARD_CURRENCY and PARTNER_CREDIT — as signed integer minor units summed as BigIntCOMMODITY_UNIT assets — wheat, stone, wood — which are consumed inside the economy and redeemable against nothing; rows whose read failed, which are excluded rather than zero-filled
Outstanding liability, book-wideNothing yet. The snapshot is a sample, and the live book stores amounts as floats behind 124 writers, so a book-wide sum would not reproduce between two readsPublished as an absence until CYG-LED-1 lands. A liability figure that moves between two reads is worse than none
Crew treasuriesCount of treasuries holding a non-zero balanceBalances themselves; identities of any kind

Each definition here is versioned. A change to any of them is a dated entry in the changelog stating the old method and the new — a figure whose definition moved silently is worse than one that was never published.
